Changes of Address & Your I-94 Record

Form AR-11 Change of Address Requirement

Form AR-11 Change of Address Requirement

Form AR-11 Change of Address Requirement

  •  As required by immigration law 8 CFR Part 265 and 8 CFR Section 264.1(f)(6), all immigrants and nonimmigrants (except those listed below) must report a change of address within 10 days of moving.  If you move, complete AR-11 or go online to www.uscis.gov/addresschange to give USCIS your new mailing address.
  • If you are in immigration court proceedings,  or have a case before the Board of Immigration Appeals, you need to fill out Form(s) https://www.justice.gov/eoir/form-eoir-33-eoir-immigration-court-listing or https://www.justice.gov/eoir/eoirforms/eoir33bia.pdf, respectively.
  • You are not required if you are a U.S. citizen, an A or G visa holder, or a nonimmigrant not possessing a visa present in the U.S. for less than 30 days.
  • Failure to do so may result in a $200 fine, 30 days in jail, and/or possible removal from the United States.

Important note about your I-94 entry record:

  • If you are not a U.S. citizen or a lawful permanent resident ("green card" holder), please download your I-94 form upon each entry into the U.S. at https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home.
  • The I-94 determines your period of lawful stay in the U.S., not your passport, your visa, or your petition approval notice.
  • The I-94 is relied upon to know how long you may lawfully remain in the U.S.
