  •  How you pay your USCIS filing fees (including biometric services fees and other fees) will depend on whether you are inside or outside of the United States.

If you live outside the United States or its territories:

  • If you live outside the United States or its territories and you want to file your application or petition where you live, go to the Forms section of our website to determine if you can file your form at an international office. We do not accept all forms of payment abroad. Check the appropriate International USCIS office webpage or contact the U.S. Embassy or Consulate for information on how to pay USCIS fees.

If you are inside the United States:

Depending on the form you are submitting, you may pay your fees:

  • Online using a credit/debit card or bank withdrawal;
  • By mail with a card, check or money order; or
  • In person at a USCIS field office.

Credit Cards

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

  • USCIS accepts U.S. bank credit cards to pay filing and biometrics fees associated with benefit requests filed with one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities.
  • USCIS cannot accept a credit card issued by a foreign bank.
  • Service centers are not able to process credit card payments.
  • You may use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Make sure the card has enough money to cover the fee at the time of filing.
  • USCIS will reject your application, petition, or request if the card is declined, and will not attempt to process your credit card payment a second time.
  • Whether a benefit requestor submits the benefit request through a USCIS Lockbox or files online, he or she may use a credit card, debit card, or prepaid card.
  • Applicants filing by mail must use an Authorization for Credit Card Transactions (Form G-1450) to pay with a credit card.

Checks & Online Payments

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Checks & Online Payments

  • Checks:  Benefit requestors may generally pay fees with bank drafts, cashier’s check, certified checks, personal checks, and money orders drawn on U.S. financial institutions and payable in U.S. funds. Please refer to form instructions for the most up-to-date information. USCIS rejects filings in cases where payment is returned as unpayable because of insufficient funds.

  • Online Payments:  The USCIS online system guides benefit requestors filing online through the process of paying fees online. Once the form is ready for submission, the system directs the benefit requestor to Pay.gov to pay. If the payment is declined, the request cannot be submitted due to lack of payment.

USCIS NEW filing fee SCHEDULE -- court enjoined

The fee schedule below is not yet in effect.  The final rule was published July 31, 2020.   Applicants and petitioners were required to use the new or revised form by October 19, 2020.   However, on September 29, 2020, a federal court(U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in Immigration Legal Resource Center et al., v. Wolf, et al., 20-cv-05883-JWS)  stopped DHS from implementing this new fee schedule.  Thus, the former  fee schedule remains applicable.
