Self-Service Kiosks for BIA & EOIR Payments

  • BIA - Board of Immigration Appeals
  • EOIR - Executive Office of Immigration Review (Immigration Courts)

As of June 2021, USCIS  will allow attorneys and accredited representatives to use self-service kiosks in USCIS field offices to pay the fees for filing an appeal of a DHS officer decision to the BIA or EOIR immigration court motions. This kiosk service is only to pay the fees for BIA appeals of DHS decisions and filing EOIR forms. Attorneys and representatives cannot use these kiosks to pay non-DHS BIA fees.

Kiosk Requires Representation

Self-Service Kiosks for BIA & EOIR Payments

Self-Service Kiosks for BIA & EOIR Payments

This service is only for attorneys (& accredited representatives).

  • The kiosk payment program eliminates the need for scheduled InfoMod appointments. Instead, payments can be made for BIA and EOIR fees without scheduling appointments through the USCIS Contact Center or waiting to get a receipt from a field office.
  • Applicants may accompany attorneys or accredited representatives to make the payment. However, applicants may not process BIA or EOIR payments using the self-service kiosks without an attorney or accredited representative present.

Procedures

Procedures

  •  The attorney will have an email authorizing access to the kiosk area to make a self-service payment.   The attorney will also bring the Applicant's address, email, & A number.
  • Applicant email address; and,
  • Kiosk permission letter.
  • Automated payments are processed securely through Pay.gov, and a receipt is printed.
  • Kiosks will only accept debit cards & credit cards with revolving credit lines (and not, for example, prepaid gift cards with bank logos).
  • The kiosks do not accept bank account (ACH) payments.

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

  •  How you pay your USCIS filing and biometric fees  will depend on whether you are inside or outside of the United States.

If you live outside the United States or its territories:

  • If you live outside the United States or its territories and you want to file your application or petition where you live, your ability depends on the type of form being filed.  Not all forms can be filed at an international office.  Also, not all forms of payment are accepted abroad.

If you are inside the United States:

Depending on the form you are submitting, you may pay your fees:

  • Online using a credit/debit card or bank withdrawal;
  • By mail with a card, check or money order; or
  • In person at a USCIS field office.

Credit Cards

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

  • USCIS accepts U.S. bank credit cards to pay filing and biometrics fees associated with benefit requests filed with one of the USCIS Lockbox facilities.
  • USCIS cannot accept a credit card issued by a foreign bank.
  • Service centers are not able to process credit card payments.
  • You may use Visa, MasterCard, American Express, and Discover. Make sure the card has enough money to cover the fee at the time of filing.
  • USCIS will reject your application, petition, or request if the card is declined, and will not attempt to process your credit card payment a second time.
  • Whether a benefit requestor submits the benefit request through a USCIS Lockbox or files online, he or she may use a credit card, debit card, or prepaid card.
  • Applicants filing by mail must use an Authorization for Credit Card Transactions (Form G-1450) to pay with a credit card.

Checks & Online Payments

Are You Inside or Outside the U.S.?

Checks & Online Payments

  • Checks:  Benefit requestors may generally pay fees with bank drafts, cashier’s check, certified checks, personal checks, and money orders drawn on U.S. financial institutions and payable in U.S. funds. Please refer to form instructions for the most up-to-date information. USCIS rejects filings in cases where payment is returned as unpayable because of insufficient funds.

  • Online Payments:  The USCIS online system guides benefit requestors filing online through the process of paying fees online. Once the form is ready for submission, the system directs the benefit requestor to Pay.gov to pay. If the payment is declined, the request cannot be submitted due to lack of payment.

HOW TO submit payments for multiple forms

USCIS court enjoined filing fees (NOT IN EFFECT)

The fee current fee schedule, which is dated 5/17/2021, is the one currently applicable.

The fee schedule seen below, which was published July 31, 2020, is NOT yet in effect.  Applicants and petitioners were required to use the new or revised form by October 19, 2020.   However, on September 29, 2020, a federal court stopped DHS from implementing this new fee schedule.  (U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California in Immigration Legal Resource Center et al., v. Wolf, et al., 20-cv-05883-JWS.)
